Wednesday Wisdom | Think Bigger!

If you follow me on Twitter, you may have caught that I was watching High School Musical 3 last week + wondering what the heck free period is. That was definitely a luxury I did not enjoy in my small, private college preparatory institution. Since the first movie, I’ve been a big Sharpay Evans guy. The sass, the style, the focus…definitely qualities I want to exude myself. Up until the last 10 minutes of the second movie, she’ll walk on everyone to get what she wants, including her brother. But when she awarded her country club’s summer Star Dazzle award to Ryan, we see a real shift in her. By the time senior year rolls around, she’s ready to crush the spring musical, Julliard + Broadway with Ryan by her side, not on his shoulders. Twice in “I Want it All,” the big dance number early on in the film, she tells Ryan to “think bigger.” I’ve seen this movie at least 100 times since it’s big screen debut during my senior year + have never felt like she was talking to me during this song until now.

I’ve discovered lately that I’d like to do something in the entertainment industry on the side. I love my job + have no intentions of leaving, I just want something more. It almost seems impossible because I didn’t go to school for this but after being in LA twice this spring + looking up to Naz Perez + Keltie Knight who do this kind of thing daily, I’m feeling the pull that I want to do it to. I mentioned this in Naz’s Instagram DMs (Chell, you have to stop doing that. You met her one time!) that her reality is becoming my dream but I didn’t know how to get there because I’m not trained for this. She responded (because shes the sweetest human) “You can do whatever you want, Chellie” So I made a little star to hang at my desk to remind me of this.

I don’t know how I’m going to make this a reality, but I’m hoping that speaking, or rather, typing this into existence will help generate energy into the direction I want to go. I’ll keep thinking bigger until I find where I want to be.

xo.
