The Bachelor | Cliché in Paris
[SPOILERS] Our ladies are in Paris for their next chapter of finding love with Arie. Arie shares that he’s seeing real futures with many of these women. Need a refresher on who’s still here?

Chris Harrison shares that there will be four dates this week: two one-on-ones, a group date + the return of the dreaded-but-good-for-TV two-on-one date. No one wants the two-on-one + I can’t say I blame them, but they’re so cringey-fun to watch. Krystal “knows” she’s on the two-on-one. Cool. Girl, bye. But first we’re getting a one-on-one with Lauren B. Arie grabs her in a dusty blue romper + whisks her away to fall in love in Paris. They board a little boat to float down the Seine. Everyone’s jealous + I definitely am with them. I haven’t been to Paris but I’ve got to say, this has to be the epitome of cliché + romantic goals.
How they’re doing this without cameras, I don’t know. I need to photograph everything when I’m in a place for the first time. They wander an adorable market while Tia + Kendall discuss whether she’ll come back from this date. I really wish I’d ben to Paris so I could see how far they’re wandering. Lauren’s very quiet on this date, the way I would be…just taking it all in. Arie tells her she wants him to like her. Well darn. If someone ever said that to me on a date, I’d probably melt because I don’t go on dates with people I don’t feel a connection with. I guess that’s why in the last three + a half years I’ve just had one year + a half situationship. Oh well.
Why have the women been on this boat this whole time? Is it a hotel? Remind me to look up #TravelForU. A bell rings + a date card is dropped off. Huh. I guess they’re staying on this boat? This is very strange…Anyway, Becca, Seinne, Bekah, Tia, Chelsea + Jenna will be on the “Let’s get dressed up” two-on-one date. This leaves Kendall, Krystal + Jacqueline to fight over spots on one- + two-on-one dates. Of course Krystal blurts how confident she’d be on a two-on-one leaving Kendall + Jacqueline looking less than thrilled. In her ITM, Krystal says it’s unfair to pin Kendall or Jacqueline against her on a two-on-one. Okay, Krystal. I have you going home tonight. Previews have already showed Krystal + Kendall on the two-on-one leaving the one-on-one for Jacqueline that we haven’t seen much of yet. Early prediction: Kendall gets the two-on-one rose, Krystal + Jacqueline go home. But then how many roses will Arie have for the end of the date. Ugh, I don’t know. I’m stressing too much.
Lauren’s changed to a gorgeous deep red dress for their dinner date. They toast with their wine + I HEARD ONE OF THEM SWALLOW. GROSS! WHY DIDN’T YOU EDIT THAT OUT?! Arie is really asking her to open up. Lauren shares that she often friend zones men for at least six months until she sees if she can trust someone. Arie shares his most major relationship where he lived with a woman with two kids + they became pregnant. He was still racing + while he was away at a race, she lost their child + she told him she was leaving. Lauren shares that she’s reserved because she’s been in the middle of her parents’ difficult marriage. She was also engaged in her last relationship + she’s scared to let him in. What I am noticing is that Arie’s looking more interested during these one-on-one dates because he didn’t on his Napa date. Because Lauren is more than beautiful + Arie wants to keep getting to know her, he gives her the rose.
It’s group date time + everyone thinks they’re going to a fashion show. NOPE! They went to the freaking Moulin Rouge!!! The artistic director, Miss Janet brings them on stage to teach them a number. Seinne is KILLING it. Tia looks as panicked as I would. She doesn’t think she’s sexy which I totally disagree with. Girl that is me! They get dressed up in some fantastic Moulin Rouge-y outfits. Whomever gets the group date rose gets to dance on stage with Arie. Well shoot. The girls look a level of fantastic that I cannot achieve. I think I’d probably just cry on this date. Wait, I’d never have gotten to this date. While I’m no longer plus-sized (a term I HATE), there’s never been a plus-sized contestant + I’m sure it’s for this reason. People are so mean, they’d tear them apart. I couldn’t deal with that. I dealt with enough in junior high when I was a size five.
The women meet Arie for cocktails + he tells Arie that the rose is going to be based on today + asks Tia for time first. Tia shares that she’s trying not to compare her relationship with him to anyone else’s + that’s very important. Chelsea feels very confused about her relationship with Arie since she’s the complete opposite of Bekah. Bekah shares that she was very jealous of Lauren’s date. But she’s surprised by how much she likes him. Arie say’s they both have a lot to think about. Arie asks if “a French kiss in France is just a kiss?” Funny, Arie. Seinne tells Arie in French that she’s very happy to be in Paris with him. Ugh. I wish I spoke French. Arie gives this date rose to Bekah M + she’s so excited that she’ll be dancing at Moulin Rouge with Arie she’s all but tearing up. They put her in an aqua costume that’s a nod to an American flapper with a cute blonde bob wig. When they kiss, Arie’s hands are always in her hair + I don’t know if I love it or hate it. The only people allowed to touch my hair are Kathi who’d been doing my hair since I was seven + my Aunt Diana. My favorite thing about visiting, even now, is after a shower, I’ll sit at her feet + she’ll brush my hair. It’s so relaxing + I always sleep better.
We’re still on this boat. Please explain this to me, ABC. “We’ll always have Paris” is the theme of Kendall + Krystal’s date tomorrow. But Krystal will be staying because she is “fun wife material.” Okay girl. The women meet Arie at a beautiful French chateau. Kendall is wearing a navy cold shoulder maxi dress while Krystal is donning a velvet cami + high wasted palazzo pants. Are they white? A pale khaki? I can’t tell. The chateau has a hedge maze + the women have to find Arie. But why is he moving? Shouldn’t you just stay in the center? Krystal finds him first while Kendall is still lost
During the commercial break, Kendall found her way out so that she could sip champagne with Krystal + Arie. Arie takes Krystal off first. He tells her he was really upset that she behaved the way she did + didn’t come to talk to him. Krystal apoligizes but I’m not sure how sincere she is. Arie seems to think she is. Krystal wants to know why Kendall is on this date because she’s never been in love + wonders if she’s ready. I think we all know that it’s best to not to talk about other women during one-on-one time.
Kendall gets time with Arie now. He shares that Krystal said Kendall isn’t ready for marriage so he wants to know where she is. She says there is no time, only people. She wants to be with someone who brings that out in her. Kendall comes back + confronts her. Thankfully, Krystal is honest. Kendall has dated someone as hurtful as Krystal is but she shows Krystal compassion. Kendal sees her but Krystal has no words. I’m unsure what’s going to happen as Arie comes up + grabs the rose. Arie says he needs more time but he’ll see them both for dinner. Krystal is surprised because she’s so sure that she’ll “win.” The women sit across from each other in a room with a view of the Eiffel Tower. We hear another wine slurp from Krystal. Ew. The women argue the fact that they have similarities that present in different ways. Arie pulls Kendall first while Krystal says that destiny will be happening tonight. They return to the table where Arie picks up the rose. This is it, guys. KENDALL GETS THE ROSE! OH MY GOSH! I WAS RIGHT, Y’ALL! But we are rid of Krystal. But they just leave her. At least it’s not in a swamp like Taylor was left last year or Cupcake from Kaitlyn’s season was left on a cliff in Ireland. I’d ask for a book + put my feet up for the rest of the night. Production takes Krystal’s suitcase + the women pop a bottle. Kendall + Arie head to the top of the Eiffel Tower. Ugh. Yep, I’d like a date like this. Dear future husband, if you exist, I’ll take one cliché Paris date, please.
Arie drives to the boat to pick up Jacqueline in a little red roadster. Jacqueline is wearing the dusty cranberry-colored dress Chelsea wore to the group date last week. The car breaks down so they talk to the Go Pro telling us they’ll still be taking us on their date but via cab. Arie takes Jacqueline shopping + they pick out a black midi dress. They wander down the street to a restaurant called Maxims with a beautiful oval spiral staircase. They toast to him making her Paris dreams come true. To ease her nerves, he kisses her. Jacqueline is nervous that she’s an experiment. He tells her he thought she was too intelligent for him. She shares that she needs a six year PhD. He’s nervous that at the end if two lives don’t mold it won’t work. He has felt that he’s held someone back before + doesn’t want to do that to her. He says they have to go with their hearts. He doesn’t want her to give up her dreams but he wants to see where this goes + offers her the rose. Well I was half right. I’m glad we got to see more of her. I can’t wait to see how this develops. They walk up the spiral stairs together to make out under the glass dome roof.
The women don their best dresses so far this season… except Tia who is killing it in a sparkly jumpsuit! There are only three roses on the table meaning two more women will be heading home with Krystal tonight. I’m stressed because I feel very invested in these women. Unfortunately I think we’ll be saying goodbye to Chelsiea + Jenna which really makes me sad. We didn’t get to know Chelsea enough or Jenna at all. Arie offers roses to Tia, Seinne + Becca, meaning we are saying goodbye to Chelsea + Jenna. Bekah of course looks shocked. Jenna is taking it very hard. Chelsea is walked out by Arie. I appreciate so much what she sacrificed to be there for him. There is nothing wrong with your hope, girl. Keep being hopeful because I can’t be. Tuscany is their next stop + I had to stop writing because I started jealously screaming. I studied in Florence in college + it’s my favorite city in the world. So excuse my frustration.
Next week, The Bachelor will be on hiatus for the Olympics but I will live blog Bachelor Winter games. I know from my sources…Okay the Ben + Ashley I Almost Famous podcast…that Ashley I + Bibiana will be interested in the same man but they choose their friendship.
