The Bachelor | Arie’s Final Three
Okay Bachelor Nation! We are two episodes away from the ending of Arie’s season of The Bachelor + I have to say I’m quite alright with it. To be perfectly honest, I’m over Arie. I did some research on “what Arie did” last night to see if it encompassed anything else than the spoiler I linked in last night’s post. Well, Bachelor Nation, it does. In addition to doing Caroline’s bff dirty, he also does Caroline dirty by playing the mixtape she made him in her bff’s fantasy suite. Like are you kidding me? Let’s get to Peru + get this over with.
Kendall is on her way to the first date today in a black crop top, destroyed skinny jeans, flannel tied around her waist + cute flat boots. She’s dropped of in the middle of the Peruvian dessert where Arie is waiting amid the sand dunes when a dune buggy shows up to take them for a spin. To be honest, this would be much cooler in the Middle East. I’ve been dune bashing in the UAE + while it made me incredibly nauseous, it was honestly too much fun. But this is right up Kendall’s alley since she’s apparently an adrenaline junkie. Arie thinks being married to Kendall would be exciting. There was so much giggling + it was honestly sweet. They sit down to a picnic + unpack last week meeting her family. They have a lot to discover with each other about each other. She knows she’s in a different boat than Becca + Lauren B. If Arie proposed today, they’d be ready but she’d say no. She’s not going to get into something she’s not ready for which I respect. But I know I couldn’t be engaged after two months. Reason #598457013874 I could never be a Bachelor contestant.
It’s date night part two + Kendall is rocking this killer red jumpsuit! She’s sharing so many insecurities. She doesn’t want to just be a novelty to Arie because she has been to exes in the past. But Arie thinks they’re a good fit. He was thrown by the taxidermy at first but he is getting it now. She tells him she’s falling in love + Arie says “I’m falling for you, too. I’m so happy you’re here.” That’s the first of the three women he’s going to say this to. He invites her to the fantasy suite. She says she doesn’t want to move forward without knowing there’s more, but this day has reassured her enough to “forego her individual room.” Arie is excited to continue to get to know Kendall + “learn all the things.” Kendall is hoping for a proposal at the end!
When they wake up, Kendall said she doesn’t feel afraid anymore! Arie’s gained so much clarity. He already knows how she likes her eggs in the morning + makes her sunny side up eggs that are crispy on the bottom. Kendall likes how good it feels to say she’s falling in love. Arie says he’s “definitely falling in love” with her + that he sees a future with her.
Lauren meets Arie at an airport in a blue + white stripped off-the-shoulder crop top + floral skirt. They board a rickety looking plane that I would never get on to look at the geoglyphs. Arie’s still feeling the walls with Lauren + she looks thoroughly unimpressed with this date. Lauren’s in her head + we’ve only seen her say one word so far on this plane which is “yeah” when he tells her she’s in her head. They land + grab seats by a river. She sees a future with him but doesn’t know where he is. He tells her she does know where he is. She’s battling herself in her head + knows what she has to lose. She’s considered leaving which Arie says scares the sh*t out of him. She finds it hard to be hopeful when she isn’t the only one.
For the night portion of their date, Lauren dons a cranberry long sleeved bodycon dress. Arie calls her out on how stressed she was in the plane. She says she’s stressed + scared but she’s glad he’s been so supportive of her the whole time. There’s so much reassurance going on + really it’s too much but I can’t say anything because I need that. But Arie tells her that he’s confident because he loves her + their date in Tuscany (which looked as boring as this date has been) really showed him how he felt about her to which Lauren responds with happy tears. These two must have some insane physical connection because I’m just bored every time they’re together. Obviously he invites her to the fantasy suite which she “absolutely” accepts. “Let’s go.” There’s a cover of LeAnn Rimes’ “How Do I Live?” playing in the background as Lauren shares that this is what she’s wanted for a long time. Arie wants this to work with her.
In the morning, we’re brought back to the boring date with a rooster crow. There’s so much love being exchanged as they pan out to see sheets + pillows on the floor. He reminds her that it’s going to get harder before it gets easier. She can’t see him ending up with anyone but her. Cool girl. Be boring together.
Becca meets Arie for her date in a tied up crop top + cut offs. Were crop tops a requirement for this week. Did Arie ask them to wear crop tops? I’d be so out. Like “Okay, bye Arie. Can’t do it.” He announces that they’re taking a catamaran to check out some islands + have a boat date. I’m here for it. Arie says this is his safest + most sure relationship. They Titanic off the back of the boat which I’d insist on, too. She asks him if he has any doubts + he doesn’t which is great but I don’t know if I believe him. He asks how she feels about long distance. She found it hard last time because she put in all the effort with her ex. Same, girl. Same. She asks if he wants her to move + he says whenever she feels comfortable. But she finds everything is right with him so she’d be willing to go.
Part two of their date is at in a tent in the middle of the desert. Becca says it’s “so cute” but I think that’s so scary! What lives in the Peruvian wilderness? Becca asks if he still has the same fears from the beginning that it won’t work but he doesn’t have that anymore. They just feel so comfortable together which is something I always hope fore. She shares her journey of how she discovered she loves him… He feels like family + she was looking at clouds the day after hometowns + it just hit her. He tells her he’s not falling in love he is in love. Well, here you have it, folks. In an hour, Arie outdid Ben + told three women he loves them. Their fantasy suite is a tent with an actual door which I’d feel a little less scared of. Arie is ready to propose in the sand dunes + thinks she’s literally perfect.
We wake up the next morning in the sand dunes in their little doored tent + they’re sharing how lucky they are to wake up next to each other. Becca’s hair is the only hair that looks messed up. Production hooked them up with a picnic breakfast. I’m like “NO! There’ll be sand everywhere!” They’re going to miss each other obviously until the rose ceremony. I don’t think I’ve ever seen her smile so big.
Now we cut to a guy in a khaki suit who “wants his girl.” Surprise, it’s Becca’s boyfriend shows up at the hotel + he’s grumbling about how much he wants his girl. Apparently he didn’t know this show ended in a proposal + when he found out, he had to come get her back. I really want to know how this works. Like do you just call up ABC + they patch you through to Bachelor production? I really need to know. Ross shows up at Arie’s room to plead his case. Apparently he only found out a week ago that Becca was here. He says it’s his proposal to give because she’s the love of his life. This is so uncomfortable to watch. I get such skeevy vibes from him. Arie says they’re pretty far down the road, that they love each other + they’ve told each other that. Arie says that if she says no to Ross that he respect their relationship. Arie says Ross has huge balls or he’s f*cking crazy. Ross has somehow gotten flowers + is knocking on her door. She looks so panicked when she answers, + I would be, too. He starts to come in + she’s like “No.” He wants to tell her how he got there but she responds: “I’m not going to invite you in.” She said she knew he was going to do this. Him trying to win her back sounds so manipulative. Like don’t come in when she’s happy + try to get her back. That’s not fair. She’s moved on. Let her go. I can’t even write about this. It’s so baffling + heartbreaking. But my girl Becca isn’t going to look back + doesn’t know why Ross would think she’d come back to him when they ended for a reason. Good for you girl. So many times I’ve gone back when someone I’ve loved reached out + asked for another chance.
Becca hops in an SUV heads to Arie’s hotel because they need to talk. She needs to reassure him of where she is. She tells Arie she’s shocked, mad + sick to her stomach. Arie doesn’t know what Becca + Ross’ relationship means in comparison to theirs. Arie wants Becca to be certain. It’s obvious she is, but Arie thinks there’s still some love between them + needs time to process this. I mean, I get it. But it’s not like you caught her calling her ex. He just flew overnight to win her back + she sent him back home. Isn’t that enough?
It’s rose ceremony time + all three women are very confident because Arie has told each of them he loves them. Way to lure them into such a false sense of security. Whomever goes home (you’ll find out in a few moments) is going to be devastated when you break her heart. I don’t think I’ve been this upset since Chris Soules’ season when Kaitlyn was sent home. After a brief recap of where Arie’s at, Chris leads him to the women anxiously awaiting roses. There’s so much color in this space. What a terrible place to have your heart broken. But then Arie hits Kendall with the “can I talk to you?” Arie says he doesn’t think he + Kendall can get there. Kendall cares so much + has been falling. She tells him it means a lot that he’s been in her life. I’ve never seen that much of a smile in a breakup. But it was so kind that he pulled her aside + walked her out first before handing out the roses. I’m sure I’d be embarrassed if I left the way Kaitlyn + Rachel did. As much as I don’t like Arie, I really respect him for this. Lauren accepts the first rose after stumbling on the cobblestones + Becca accepts the second. Arie tells them they’ll meet his family next week. I as hoping he’d tell us where but he doesn’t. The three watch the sunset + we get a preview of the finale next week. It’s almost over guys! Then we can speculate who will be our Bachelorette. I’m still holding out for Seinne or maybe a throwback to Becca Tilley. We’ll see!
