The Bachelor | Love in Tahoe

In the next episode of what DIDN’T promise to be the most dramatic season yet, we find ourselves wondering whether or not Arie knows how old Bekah is. But based on previews, we know he’ll find out today. Chris Harrison comes over to let the girls know it’s time to pack up + leave the mansion because the 14 remaining girls get to travel. Arie is at the Hard Rock Hotel in Lake Tahoe, Nevada! The women are in this suuuper cute rustic cabin that includes lots of taxidermy for Kendall. I don’t know what romantic is because I’ve never experienced it, but I think this place might fit that bill.

Seinne gets the first one-on-on to “Let our love soar.” I’m super excited about this one-on-one because I really want more screen time for Seinne. Arie stops by to pick up Seinne + sits with the girls for a minute. He’s excited because this is his first time in Tahoe. They drive off in an old lifted struck. Back at the cabin, Krystal is sure Seinne will come home tonight. We’re not even 10 minutes in when I’ve had enough of her. I don’t get conceited + entitled women. I also think Seinne has a deeper personality than what we’ve been shown of Krystal.

After a quick commercial break, we’re back at the ladies’ cabin. They have binoculars + are spying on Seinne + Arie’s parasailing date. This would scare me just as much as Nick’s Zero G date with Vanessa. They return to dry land with champagne. Their “interview” conversation centers on Arie’s family + his brother’s wedding at a castle in Holland. Mom interject’s that she’s pretty + I counter that she’s stunning. Seinne asks him if after Lauren S went home, if she was asked to go on the date if he had questions or if he really wanted to see her. But he does + they share a sweet kiss on the waterfront. We then cut back to the cabin where Maquel is on the phone. I know this can’t be good because she doesn’t have children. She finds that her grandfather has passed away + it’s truly the saddest thing. She packs up + heads home. Marikh hopes Arie will let her come back but I think it’s up to producers.

Chelsea, Krystal, Becca, Marikh, Ashley, Jacqueline, Jenna, Tia, Kendall, Lauren, Brittany + Caroline will be on a group date themed “Will our love survive.” Meaning Bekah will be on a one-on-one. Seinne + Arie meet for dinner + Seinne shares that she needs to learn how to wink+ wants to know why Arie thinks he hasn’t been in love for five years. As we, the audience, has heard, he was intentionally dating people who weren’t ready for commitment. Seinne shares how much she’s been nervous over finding her love story because black fairy tales aren’t as prevalent. For a moment, it seems Arie checks out, but then he offers her the rose saying that hopefully this is the beginning of their love story. As with good one-on-ones, there’s one more stop before the date ends where they get to dance in the middle of a Lanco (who?) concert. I really hope she makes it far, but I also didn’t put her in my final four. I’m almost mad at myself for it, but I’m also really good at picking the final four so it’s not about her. Seinne for our next Bachelorette? One can only hope.

It’s now time for our wilderness date that I would probably get sent home on because I would not want to participate on what I’ve seen in previews. Everyone looks really woodsy-chic. It’s quintessential fall fashion at it’s finest. They meet up with a green beret + his wife to teach them how to survive in a wilderness because the techniques needed to survive are also important for love. Their first task is to PEE IN A BOTTLE + DRINK IT. ARE YOU KIDDING OH HECK NO. I AM OUT. Arie drinks his. Are you serious? So Jacqueline is about to drink hers when Arie stops her because he was actually drinking apple juice. Next it’s time to snack on worms. Tia + Kendall are down + they munch away with Arie. Kendall steals him away for a kiss. Then the divide up into teams of four to hike to an oasis. Arie teamed up with Krystal, Tia, Caroline + Kendall + they make it back first. The other teams trickle in + everyone gets in the hot tub. Krystal is complaining that she’s too old for this. THEN WHY ARE YOU ON A TV SHOW TO COMPETE FOR A MAN’S ATTENTION. Just do it at a bar. You don’t have to leave your job for it. Or just don’t date. That’s what I’m doing. I’m so tired of not measuring up even though I bring so much to the table. I quit. So maybe take a page from my book? I don’t know. Maybe the Bachelor isn’t for you, Krystal? Just a thought.

Everyone dries off + they meet for drinks. Everyone enjoyed the hot tub but Tia’s favorite part was eating bugs. Okay girl. Do ya thing. Krystal plans on tattling on the other girls. Arie steals Lauren fist + he has a “little surprise set up.” They wrap up under a blanket by the fire. Is this romantic? She tells him she’s trying to be more open but doesn’t know what he’s looking for. He wants a partnership. That sounds bomb. She wants to grow old + still spank each other + tell dirty jokes. He says he needs to take her on a date. Look out for that next week. It’s Kendall’s turn now + he said she was very brave today. She loved the challenge this date was. Kendall says she brought a taxidermied (is that a word? it is now.) duckling with her on the date.

Krystal says she’s being so challenged on this date + she doesn’t like all the “obnoxiously overbearing need to be seen.” Uhhhh I think you do the same thing. She says everyone’s personality was showing which both Marikh + Chelsea disagree with and rightly so. Caroline + Tia are off by themselves complaining about Krystal + I would be right there with them. It’s Krystal’s turn with Arie. She says there’s a target on her back + that she feels ostracized. He asked what’s going on + she says Tia + Caroline feel threatened. Arie tries to reassure her, but he sort of puts them down because Krystal is so beautiful. Like a strong woman isn’t intimidated by another strong woman, Arie. Learn what strong women are. Krystal pulls Tia + Caroline aside for DRAMA because this season truly doesn’t have enough. Caroline assures her that she was not attacking her but Tia tells her that they way she feels is how she makes others feel. Krystal plays the victim + Tia shuts. it. down. Tia knew she was talking about them to Arie + won’t allow Krystal to make her feel like shit.

Tia gets time with Arie + tells him she doesn’t want to talk about others. She wants to talk about them. Good. I hate when people waste their time. Tia shares that she feels really scared about the fact that the closeness + comfort she feels with him he feels with others. They share a passionate kiss + she eventually receives the group date rose… A really crummy quality rose, I might add. For a not bloomed rose, it’ had two to three petals that fell almost all the way back to the stem. Come on, ABC. Tia deserves all the roses for the way she asserted herself + didn’t let anything take her down even though she’s starting to feel the pressure that all the true contenders do. Krystal is not pleased as she felt she was very clear explaining her issues with Tia + Caroline. This is proof that not talking about others during one-on-one time PAYS OFF!

It’s the day of Bekah’s date. Krystal shares it’s hard to be who she is + that she’s misunderstood. I can’t. I just can’t. Let’s see this one-on-one where they explore Tahoe on horseback. THIS IS MY DATE. WHY AM I NOT ON THIS DATE? But Arie has to show this noob how to get on a horse. I could do that with out help beyond a milk crate at six. Everyone’s wondering whether they’ve talked about age yet. Let’s just get to it. So now Arie + Bekah are in a hot tub. He shares the story of how he broke his collar bone. Hmm. I don’t know how necessary broken bone stories are this early in a relationship. But that’s me. I don’t know what romance is.

Bekah is in a faux fur AGAIN. But every style should have a signature so I can’t fault her at all. They meet for “dinner” in a cabin with a GORGEOUS two story fireplace. I would like to go on a date with myself here. They’re both sharing how surprised they are about how much chemistry there is. He asks if she thinks she’s ready. She doesn’t know because she’s never been with the right person at the right time. So he wants to know where she is in life. He’s afraid she’s not ready. HE ADMITS HE’S BORING! So she’s like “Wait, do you not know how old I am?” She nervously tells him she’s 22. He’s shocked but is trying to be more chill about it. She share’s she’s casually dated older but not anything serious. He’s so torn. Are they too far apart? We’ll find out after the commercial… They’re both scared. He doesn’t think she’s ready + she deflates. They’re feeling real things for each other but he’s sure he’s not ready. He tells her she’s the most incredible person he’s ever met but he’s afraid he’s going to be heartbroken + he wants a wife. She’s not getting a rose. This sounds like a breakup. Sounds like every breakup I’ve ever been a part of. Oh my gosh he’s holding the rose. What is happening?! Oh my gosh. He took her to the brink of a breakup then gave her the rose. I would have been crying all over the place. THIS IS WHY I CAN’T DATE!

The girls parade into cocktail hour. Krystal doesn’t feel confident + I don’t feel bad. Everyone, including me, wants her to stop talking. Chris walks in + tells the women there will be no cocktail party because Arie is ready + knows what he’s going to do. Now I”m actually concerned for Krystal because her panic is so real. Granted, that’s what production wants us to see, but still. Arie, makes a short speech + then it’s rose time. He’s ready to start when Krystal suddenly interrupts asking to talk to him + Arie obliges. I really wish I understood what she needed to talk to him about beyond she mentioned the other women. Bad move.

Arie has roses for Lauren, Kendall, Ashley, Becca, Chelsea, Jenna, Jacqueline, Marikh + Krysal. This means we say goodbye to Brittany, Caroline + (I assume) Maquel. Brittany is hopeful for his future. I’m so sad Caroline is going home. She walks out with her shoes off + man, do I feel that. That’s how I’d leave.

Next week they’re off to Ft. Lauderdale so we’ll see what the east coast has to offer the remaining women in the race for Arie’s heart.
